Model-City Haven-Stad Opens at ARCAM

Since November 2023, visitors at ARCAM can learn more about the spatial story of Haven-Stad, the largest urban expansion in the Netherlands, through a brand-new multimedia installation.
The installation includes a large-scale model, accompanied by visual material on the history of the area, portraits of businesses in the area, and plans developed over the years. In a nearby research station, visitors can zoom in on the areas of Hemknoop, Zaanstraat Emplacement, Cornelis Douwesterrein, Docks in Noord, a bridge landing, and the Houtveemloods. The installation will be on display until 2028 and will keep evolving following the developments in Haven-Stad and the Transition-Scapes research project.
